anant chaturdashi fast has great importance in Hinduism.  This festival is also known as Anant Chaudas.  This day remembers Lord Vishnu, the God of many incarnations.  

Falling on the 14th day of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada in the Hindu calendar, this festival celebrates the spirit of unity and common brotherhood.

On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, a thread is tied on Lord Vishnu's arm by bowing to him.  This thread can be either silk thread or cotton and should have 14 knots.  / Ganesh Visarjan is also celebrated on the day of Anant Chaudas.  The whole country celebrates this festival with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm.  

This year the festival of Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 9th September 2022, the day Friday.  It is believed that whoever worships Shri Harivishnu properly, all his wishes are fulfilled.  On this day, by worshiping with a sincere heart, God is pleased and removes all the sorrows of the devotees.

Significance of Anant Chaturdashi 


According to mythology, the festival of Anant Chaturdashi has its roots in the epic Mahabharata.  This day is being celebrated as the day of Lord Vishnu.  

God created 14 lokas, Tal, Atal, Prana, Sutala, Talatal, Rasatal, Patal, Bhi, Bhuv, Jana, Tapa, Satya, Mah.  To obey and protect them, he came to this mortal world in the form of 14 different incarnations, which gave him the name of being infinite.  He knew that he had saved his people and his creations, for which these incarnations played a major role. 


Therefore, the day of Anant Chaturdashi is of great importance, because you can please the lord of creation yourself and be blessed with his best blessings.  The fast observed on this day also has special significance.  

All this is said to please him and grant you an eternal life full of joy and contentment.  It is also believed that along with fasting on this day, one who recites Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra, all his wishes are fulfilled and he gets what he wants from the Lord.

This fast is done to get wealth, abundance and prosperity in the life of a person.  The desire for sufficient wealth, happiness and children etc. tempts man to seek the blessings of God on his mortal existence.  This fast is prevalent in many states of India.  On this day folk tales of Lord Vishnu are heard by the family members.


Anant Chaturdashi Puja Vidhi and Vrat


The importance of fasting has been told in Agni Purana.  This day commemorates the infinite forms of Lord Vishnu.  Let us know its worship method 

After bathing on this day, take a bow and place the urn on the worship altar.  

In this, the Ashtadal made of Kush should be installed on the lotus vase.  If possible a picture of Lord Vishnu can also be used. 

After this, prepare a thread of 14 knots by dipping it in vermilion, saffron and turmeric.  

Keep this thread in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu.   

Now worship the idol and idol of God by Shodashopchar method.  Anantrupe Vinijayasva Hranantasutreya Namo Namaste.

After this men should tie this thread on their left hand and women should wear it around their right hand.
